Our work

Operation Eyesight’s focus is on countries where people are particularly threatened by blindness and low vision. Today, we work in India, Nepal and the African countries of Kenya, Ghana and Zambia. We’re also expanding our programs to Nepal. In all of these countries, the conditions that lead to blindness are widespread and deeply rooted. Loss of sight can lead to abject poverty or even death. 

But the good news is that most blindness – 80 percent! – can be prevented or cured. That is the core of our work.
