Richmond Bediako Nsiah 

Monitoring and Evaluation Manager 

Richmond Bediako Nsiah is a seasoned health information manager with over 14 years of experience in public health, specializing in health informatics, monitoring and evaluation, and geospatial health planning. His expertise lies in transforming health data into actionable insights to improve service delivery and health outcomes. 

Richmond holds a Master of Public Health in Health Informatics from the Catholic University of Ghana and a Bachelor of Public Health in Health Information from the University of Health and Allied Sciences, Ho. He has further strengthened his professional capacity through certifications in monitoring and evaluation, project management, leadership and management, and field epidemiology, obtained from the University of Washington and the Ghana Health Service in partnership with the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. 

Over the years, Richmond has held several strategic positions, including senior technical officer with USAID-JSI Research & Training Institute’s MRITE and Global Vax projects, where he provided technical guidance on immunization programming and digital microplanning. He also served as head of health information and head of the monitoring and evaluation unit, as well as coordinator for the Maternal and Child Health Nutrition Improvement Project and Malaria Control Programs at the municipal level with the Ghana Health Service. In these roles, he played a key role in leading data quality improvement initiatives, overseeing surveillance systems, and mentoring healthcare staff in data collection, reporting and utilization for evidence-based decision-making. 

As our Monitoring and Evaluation Manager, Richmond brings his extensive experience to the planning, monitoring and evaluation of eye health programs across our project districts in Ghana. He says he is truly delighted to be part of an organization that is committed to eliminating avoidable vision loss. Being a member of a passionate and skilled team working to restore sight to those in need gives him great professional satisfaction and personal fulfillment. 

Richmond is also a dedicated public health researcher with multiple peer-reviewed publications in areas such as health information management, malaria control, and maternal and child health. His passion for data-driven public health interventions continues to drive impactful change within the communities he serves. 

When not working, Richmond enjoys reading published articles, editing videos and watching movies, which help him stay informed, creative and refreshed.
