Joshua Hincks

Project and Grant Coordinator

Joshua Hincks began at Operation Eyesight as a student intern while he was finishing his degree at the University of Calgary. After graduating with his degree in Canadian and Eastern European history, he joined the Fund Development team full time as a grant and projects coordinator. He uses analytical research and writing skills to assist in assessing local program efficiency, developing environmental scans and writing grants.

Born in Calgary, Alberta, Joshua has travelled in South America and Europe. He studied Spanish and Russian and continues to study Earth and climate science as well as computer programming. When he’s not studying, he’s playing video games, strumming his guitar, or spending time with his partner and their new puppy.

He says he joined Operation Eyesight because, “It’s awesome that each country that we work in has their own local team, because there are cultural and language differences everywhere, and this provides quality and comfortable local care for people.”

Throughout his time in university, he served as president of the non-profit club “Spread the Love” to help provide sandwiches and food for homeless populations in Calgary. He engaged with other non-profit clubs to foster a student community focused on creating impact.
