With over 18 years of experience in the development sector, Emmanuel Benia Tanti has been at the forefront of impactful initiatives in health, child development and community outreach. For the past 8+ years, he has specialized in the eye health sector, driving sustainable solutions to enhance accessibility and quality of care. 

Currently, Emmanuel leads the Integrated People-Centered Eye Care (IPEC) project in collaboration with the Government of Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh, ensuring that eye care services are seamlessly integrated into the broader healthcare system. Additionally, he oversees the Vision Centre-Based Community Eye Health Project across Bihar, Meghalaya, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, focusing on strengthening primary eye care at the grassroots level. His work also includes spearheading Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) initiatives in Uttar Pradesh, addressing a critical gap in neonatal eye health. 

Emmanuel’s expertise spans program strategy, government partnerships, health system strengthening and community-driven interventions. His leadership has played a key role in advancing equitable eye care, especially in underserved regions, by bridging the gap between policy and grassroots implementation. 

Beyond his professional pursuits, Emmanuel is passionate about innovation, storytelling and leveraging creative mediums to engage communities. His vision is to drive sustainable impact, ensuring that quality eye care reaches those who need it the most. 

Emmanuel has a master’s in social work.
